6th Annual Teddy Bear Hospital

6th Annual Teddy Bear Hospital

Message below from the Paediatric Society in the Royal College of Surgeons on their annual Teddy Bear Hospital Event.

My name is Evelyn Flynn and I’m the vice president of the Paediatric Society in the Royal College of Surgeons, Dublin. Together with our President Claire we are delighted to inform you that registrations are now open to the public for our 6TH Annual Teddy Bear Hospital on the 1st and 2nd of February 2020 in RCSI 123 St. Stephens Green Dublin.  The Teddy Bear Hospital is an event aimed at children aged 4-10 designed to educate them about healthcare and healthy living and to alleviate fears about going to see health care professionals using fun and play. All sessions are designed to be completely inclusive but notably for your network the 2 sessions on the Sunday 2nd February are designed specifically for children with disabilities and serious illness and their siblings/ friends. These sessions will specifically be smaller in size with a higher ratio of volunteers to ensure we can cater to your needs. I have attached a poster for the event which you are more than welcome to distribute to inform your network about the event.

The event is free of charge. We will however be arranging some raffles with some outstanding prizes with all funds raised being donated to St.

Michaels House. https://www.smh.ie/ [1] Donations are welcome on the day but not necessary to attend.

We ask that each child bring with them a teddy if they have one to take with them around all of our “teddy hospital” stations. Teddy’s will visit the doctor, x ray department, face painting sessions and the pharmacy and physiotherapist as well. We require parents to remain with and supervise their children for the duration of the session. Light refreshments will be provided on the day.

Please register to attend at the below link.
