Activities

WSAI Annual Social Weekend

Every Spring the Association organizes a social weekend for its members where WS children/adults and their parents get together to enjoy a range of social activities. In addition the gathering affords WS parents a great opportunity to meet other WS parents and share real world experiences about living with WS. This annual weekend is usually held in the Spring.

Williams Syndrome

Annual Picnic in the Park

Every year we organise a picnic in the park – usually on a Sunday in July. This event, which is held in the grounds of Farmleigh House, Phoenix Park, Dublin, provides a great opportunity for families with younger WS children to meet up and get to know other WS people.

Music/Activity Camp

WSAI has been running a very successful annual music/activity camp for WS people since 2001. This has proved invaluable in developing the musical and general abilities of our WS individuals. This annual Camp is usually held in July or August. Check Upcoming Events closer to the time to get more details.

See Music Camp for more details.

European Federation of Williams Syndrome (FEWS)

WSAI is an active participant in the European Federation of Williams Syndrome support organisations. Its members are drawn from most European countries. Being part of FEWS affords us the opportunity to sponsor WS people to attend annual WS activity camps which are organised in various parts of Europe. We also benefit by learning about the various supports and facilities available for WS in Europe.

Annual General Meeting

WSAI holds an Annual General Meeting each year. All members are invited to attend to review the past year’s activities, to provide input to the planning of the coming year’s programme and to elect the committee for the year ahead. We also arrange expert lectures on various aspects of WS including medical, education issues and the various services available. AGM also facilitates information sharing between WS families and informal sharing of WS experiences. The AGM is normally held in November at a location in Dublin that is relatively easy to access.
