Annual WSI Camps Summary

WSI organises a 4 day Camp for individuals with WS in conjunction with the Education Department of Mary Immaculate College.  A Junior Camp is provided for individuals under the age of 17 and the focus of this Camp is on supporting child’s education with the focus on the development of self-help skills, language skills, social skills and academic skills.  A mini Individual Education Plan is provided for each child attending which parents can bring to their child’s school to assist teachers to provide tailored support to students with WS.

WSI also organises residential Camps for individuals with WS who are over the age of 17.  The focus of this Camp is to provide a social outlet for people with WS over 16 years of age.  The Camp focuses on areas such as Music, Drama, Life Skills & Independence for people affected by WS.   Currently this Camp is also held in Mary immaculate College Limerick in July/August. WSI subsidies individuals with WS attending the Camp and also funds accommodation for any residential volunteers that are required to run the Camp.
