WSI values all donations, large or small, to help us support the WS community in Ireland.   We currently run around four key events annually where we individuals with WS and their families to provide support in a range of areas as follows:

We organise an annual weekend break for families affected by WS.  These largely social weekends provide key mechanism for family interaction and information exchange.  This is critical support for families affected by WS because of rarity of WS in the community.  Almost always parents of children newly diagnosed with WS will not have any immediate contacts in their social circles with any knowledge of condition.  Very often medical and other supports of community will not have come across WS before. In these circumstances it is vital that affected families have the opportunity to meet and chat with other WS families to discuss aspects of WS for all stages of life.  WSI subsidises family attendance at these events to make it a little easier for families to attend.

Over the year we also fund one day events such as our annual Picnic in the Park and we hold our Annual general Meeting in the autumn of each year.

We also have significant running costs in areas such as administration in the areas of IT, Governance and day to day operations.
